Judith & Joshua || A Columbia and Hollywood Ballroom Wedding
I love it when I get to be part of a great wedding. Great in a sense that everyone teared up at some point of their wedding day; that there was so much happiness, joy, love, and appreciation everywhere you go; that people were enjoying each other’s company because they come together for one goal – to celebrate the couple. Judith and Joshua had one of the most heartfelt weddings that I’ve honored to be photographed. There were so much celebration and happiness from everyone around them, and we were so blessed to be part of it!
The day started with preparation at the Columbia Inn at Peralynna, a beautiful and tucked-away inn, which was perfect for their first look! I asked them separately whether they might cry prior to their first look, and to my surprise, they both replied that they don’t think the other person would tear up. It turned out to be one of the most heartwarming moments of the day. The anticipation and nerves move the couple to tear up and embrace each other. Their wedding party and family nearby were all tearing up as they witnessed the moment unfold.
We then traveled to St. John Baptist Church to get ready for the ceremony. The sanctuary was filled with family and friends who have traveled from near and far to celebrate Judith and Joshua. With small string quartet and worship music, Judith walked down the aisle by her dad and took Joshua’s hand. Their pastor spoke of the kind personalities and maturity that these two displayed at a young age, and the love and sacrifice that they made for the youth kids at church because of the love of Christ, which also brought them together. He charged them to not look for the love from each other to fulfill their needs, but rather rely on God who satisfies all our needs. Instead of the typical unity candle, the couple decided to do a bonsai tree watering as a symbol of unity and beginning of a new family.
Their guests then packed the Hollywood Ballroom for the reception, with decoration and floral arrangements done by their friends and Joshua’s mom. For their first dance, Judith and Joshua’s danced to the same song they shared when they first started dating. Then a touching moment happened during the father-daughter dance with Judith and her dad. Everyone was tearing up to witness the tender love of a father. Even more so, Joshua and his mom had the cutest mother-son dance, dancing to Count On Me by Bruno Mars! Between heartfelt speeches and dancing all night, it showed me a glimpse of what's to come for the second coming of Christ and the celebration of the union of God and His people. To top it off, the couple made their exit as their guests blew bubbles around them!
Congratulation Judith and Joshua! We are so happy for you guys! It was an honor and blessing to be able to witness and capture these moments for your wedding day!
