Sarah & Chris || Washington DC Wedding
If you have been following my blog, you probably have seen Sarah & Chris’ engagement session at Old Town Alexandria back in August. These two have been so amazingly focused and planned their wedding within 4 months, and their wedding was definitely one of the most memorable ones for me this year! Some of you know that it is one of my dreams to be able to photograph couples at the monuments, so when I found out that Sarah & Chris were having a complete DC-themed wedding, I’ve been looking forward to this day to come!
Sarah had her hair done by Anna Fazio and makeup done by Jan Scott prior to the First-Look. We met at the Jefferson Memorial, which oversees the Tidal Basin and the Washington Monument, for their private First-Look. Although there were some tourists around, they couldn’t stop looking at each other only the whole time. Sarah & Chris’ First-Look was intimate and emotional, even I could barely keep my eyes dry! There, we took the opportunities to have a portrait session for just the two of them, and they are definitely some of my favorites! We then walked over to the DC War Memorial to meet up with their wedding party for the whole party portraits. They were some of the goofiest ones I’ve seen so far!
The ceremony took place at the Miracle Theatre, which is the venue of their church that they attend regularly. The ceremony was simple, yet meaningful as they partook the communion as husband and wife for the first time. They even had marquee signs up outside the theatre just for them! Everyone then traveled to the Capitol Hill Club nearby to continue the celebration of their union. The space was elegantly decorated with bouquets from Galleria Florist and centerpieces from Open Blooms and the signage designed by Kelsy Black, who's also Sarah's good friend. Each of the tables was named after the landmarks of DC, and they were perfect! From the first dance to speeches, to cutting the beautifully-decorated cake by Edible Incredibles and more dances, everyone enjoyed each moment of this celebrations! I also discovered that both of their family are excellent at dancing, as Jake Ritchie of Dream Day DJs deejayed perfectly throughout the night!
Congratulation Sarah and Chris! Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of the celebration! It was an honor and blessing to be able to capture all the beautiful moments of your wedding!
